Vital Life was started in 2001 by Sister Bronwyn Cosslett, a Professional Registered Nurse with experience in Midwifery, Psychiatry, Community Health, Pharmacology, Paediatric Nursing, Neonatal ICU and Antenatal care. She is also an HIV/Aids trainer, a registered instructor in First Aid, CPR and Choking with the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa and is a mother of 4 children including a set of twins.
Vital Life was purchased in 2006 by Gail Starr and she has been running it in Pietermaritzburg for the past 10 years. The courses being offered have increased from initially a Basic Child Care Course to including training in Water Safety and Drown Prevention, Home Based Care, Housekeeping, Cooking Courses and Dept of Health accredited Level 1 and 2 First Aid Courses. Gail is a registered CPR instructor with the Resuscitation Council of South Africa, a Health Care educator, as well as the past owner of Clamber Club Pietermarizburg and the owner of Starrfish Swimming School. Gail has extensive experience in Domestic training and has a passion for offering current, relevant training skills to all candidates.
Vital Life Training employs one full time trainer Mavis Gwala who is passionate about her role in making sure each and every candidate has fully understood all the course material. The training can be done in Zulu or English and each candidate will recieve take home material.
